Patented Non-intrusive flow remediation for high pressure systems
Overview
Paradigm’s patented Pipe-Pulse® technology is designed to provide operators a non-intrusive means to remove blockages from pipelines, subsea flowlines or umbilical systems.
Pipe-Pulse® is tied into the system via a single connection point and subsequently generates and deploys controlled transient pressure surges into the blocked line to break down the structure of the plug. These pulses will result in either adhesive (full dislocation from pipe wall) or cohesive breakthrough (communication restored to enable chemical / fluid circulation).
Applications
Small diameter lines deliver a range of control, inhibition and production fluids across oil and gas infrastructure while often going unnoticed until issues arise.
The cause of blockages can range from things such as water ingress or a mixing of incompatible chemicals and due to the sizes of these lines, can present significant challenges in their remediation which can lead in the worst cases to a shut down of production.
Pipe-Pulse® is designed to resolve these issues quickly to remove blockages and restore flow with minimal interference.

How does Pipe-Pulse work?
Pipe-Pulse delivers controlled pressure pulse waves into lines to create a dynamic force at the face of a blockage enabling its displacement from the system.
Is there any risk of damaging the line using Pipe-Pulse?
During engineering Paradigm ensures that there are suitable relief valves in place to not exceed the maximum allowable operating pressures of the line during pulsing operations.
What size of lines can Pipe-Pulse be used on?
Pipe-Pulse is suitable for small diameter, high pressure lines ranging from ⅜” umbilical cores to 10” flowlines.
What kind of mediums can Pipe-Pulse be used with?
Pipe-Pulse can be used in liquid filled lines with a range of existing mediums such as oil, MEG, corrosion inhibitors, seawater etc..
How big is the equipment used for Pipe-Pulse?
For umbilical scopes the Pipe-Pulse equipment is small enough to be manually positioned at the worksite by two Field Technicians. For larger pipeline scopes, equipment weights are within the normal handling limits of offshore or onshore worksites.
