Overview
Small diameter lines deliver a range of control, inhibition and production fluids across oil and gas infrastructure while often going unnoticed until issues arise.
The cause of blockages can range from things such as water ingress or a mixing of incompatible chemicals and due to the sizes of these lines, can present significant challenges in their remediation which can lead in the worst cases to a shut down of production.
Pipe-Pulse is designed to resolve these issues quickly to remove blockages and restore flow with minimal interference.
Applications
Pipe-Pulse is a non-intrusive technology which delivers controlled pressure pulse waves into high pressure lines, creating a dynamic force at the face of a blockage enabling its displacement from the system. Pipe-Pulse is suitable for small diameter, high pressure umbilical cores as small as ⅜”
This approach can be deployed on liquid filled lines with a range of existing mediums such as oil, MEG, corrosion inhibitors, seawater etc.
When used for umbilical core blockage remediation, the Pipe-Pulse equipment is small enough to be manually positioned at the worksite by two Field Technicians
Benefits
Pipe-Pulse has a field proven track record in overcoming challenging blockages globally in lines of varying diameters and lengths.
The ability to deploy Pipe-Pulse from congested topside locations or areas of onshore facilities where access is limited, gives operators the advantage in tackling blockages with minimal intervention or impact on adjacent activities.
FAQ
What is Flexi-Coil®?
Flexi-Coil® is Paradigm’s patented technology for the removal of pipeline blockage and wall deposit materials in hydrocarbon systems.
The technology is a miniaturized flexible coiled tubing system which utilizes a neutrally buoyant composite coil to navigate through topside and subsea bends, reaching extended distances to restore or enhance production.
Flexi-Coil® can pass through over 1000 degrees of cumulative bends, removing the need for any vessel / subsea intervention and giving operators much greater control of their remediation activities.
What type of materials can Flexi-Coil® remove?
Flexi-Coil® has a track record spanning over a decade in removing a wide range of pipeline blockage materials including paraffin waxes, sands, asphaltenes and hydrates globally.
What distances can Flexi-Coil® reach?
Flexi-Coil® can reach distances over 6km / 20,000ft in standard pipeline systems, with added capability to reach in excess of 10km / 33,000ft in some cases.
How much debris can Flexi-Coil remove?
Flexi-Coil® can recover up to 100% of pipeline blockage material, returning the pipeline back to base metal ready for inspection or restarting production as shown from previous projects.
What sizes of pipelines can Flexi-Coil® be used in?
Flexi-Coil® can be used in lines as small as 4” diameter with the largest project to date taking place inside a 24” export pipeline.
Also as Flexi-Coil® is a composite material and neutrally buoyant, there is no risk of causing abrasive wear to the inner-wall or flexible carcass.
