System Remediation

Overview

System Remediation is Paradigm’s service for restoring a deluge system back to a compliant, reliable condition when inspection shows that cleaning alone will not resolve the issue. It is designed for operators and duty holders who need clear corrective action, fast, with controlled impact on operations.
We repair or replace the parts of the deluge network that are driving non compliance, from local sections through to full system replacement where required. Replacement options include like for like pipework or upgrading to the latest composite pipe technology, depending on the failure mechanism and the asset requirements.

Applications

System Remediation is applied when deluge inspection or testing highlights defects that materially affect system performance or availability. Typical triggers include persistent blockages, internal degradation, recurring nozzle issues, or damaged supports and trigger lines that compromise functionality.
Common scenarios include:

  • Post inspection findings: internal inspection identifies damage or restriction that cannot be resolved by cleaning, so pipework sections are repaired or replaced to restore flow paths.

  • Aging offshore deluge networks: open pipework and harsh marine conditions can accelerate degradation, leading to nozzle blockage risk and performance uncertainty, remediation focuses on targeted replacement and upgrades where it matters most.

  • Integrity driven upgrades: replacing legacy pipework with composite pipe technology to reduce future corrosion exposure while maintaining deluge coverage and system integrity.

  • Component level remediation: replacement of nozzles, brackets, and trigger lines when wear, corrosion, or damage causes under delivery or unreliable activation.

During remediation work, we can provide suitable temporary fire cover and keep the impact on other operations to a minimum, so safety and continuity stay front and center.

Benefits

Restores compliance with clear corrective action
When a system cannot meet its required performance, remediation replaces the limiting components so you can move forward with verification and close out actions with confidence.

Right sized replacement options
You can choose like for like pipework or move to composite pipe technology, allowing the remediation scope to match the failure mechanism and long term integrity goals.

Targets the real weak points
Nozzles, brackets, and trigger lines can be replaced as part of the scope, helping eliminate recurring issues that drive repeated call outs and repeated impairment planning.

Maintains safety cover during works
Temporary fire protection cover can be provided while remediation is executed, helping reduce the operational risk that comes with deluge impairment.

Minimises operational disruption
The service is designed to keep the impact on other asset operations as low as practicable while restoring fire protection integrity.

FAQ

What is deluge system remediation?

System Remediation is the repair or replacement of deluge system components to return the system to a compliant condition. It is used when inspection shows that cleaning alone will not restore performance. The scope can range from replacing selected pipe sections to full system replacement, and it can also include associated items such as nozzles, brackets and trigger lines.

If inspection or testing shows the system needs more drastic measures to become compliant again, remediation is the practical next step. This typically happens when parts are beyond economic repair after cleaning, or when repeated underperformance points to component level issues that require replacement rather than further flushing or chemical cleaning.

Paradigm can replace deluge pipework either like for like or using the latest composite pipe technology. We can also replace nozzles, brackets and trigger lines as part of a remediation scope, so performance issues are addressed end to end.

Yes. During remediation work, Paradigm can provide suitable temporary fire cover to minimise impact on other asset operations. The exact setup depends on site requirements and the level of impairment, but the goal is continuity of protection while restoring the primary system.

We align the option to your operational priorities and long term maintenance strategy. Like for like replacement may suit standardisation and fast reinstatement. Composite pipe technology may be preferred when you want a material upgrade as part of restoring compliance. We confirm the recommended approach after inspection findings and the agreed remediation scope.

About Paradigm Fire Protection Services

Paradigm Fire Protection Service offers performance based deluge testing technologies and remediation services.
Save cost, reduce operational disruption and increase asset lifespan with Paradigm Dry Deluge Testing: The only verified dry deluge test in the world Dry-Flo® testing involves flowing low-pressure, dried air into the deluge system. At low pressures air replicates the flow of water exactly, enabling us to take readings throughout the deluge system to prove compliance. Our software package processes this information to give live data in both a graphical and numerical format so the operator can quickly identify whether a system is compliant. If this isn’t the case the software can immediately show the operator where the issue is within the system, allowing our technicians to inspect and remediate as necessary. Dry-Flo® has been qualified in accordance with DNV-DSS-401, Technology Management /1/ and DNV GL considers it qualified for its intended use following DNV RP-A203 /2/ and is currently undergoing Bureau Veritas and Lloyds Register certification procedures.
