Paradigm’s Patented In-Riser Production Optimization solutions enable operators to defer, deploy, and optimize artificial lift across the full asset lifecycle, from new developments through to mature deepwater subsea fields.
Enabled by Flexi-Coil® composite coiled tubing, the solution supports in-riser gas lift and velocity string applications without the cost, complexity, or access limitations of conventional steel tubing or subsea boosting systems.

Designed-In Optionality for New Developments
For new projects, Paradigm works with operators during concept select and FEED to design for future in-riser artificial lift, avoiding the need to install riser-base gas lift or other subsea systems that may remain unused for years. By incorporating a simple, bespoke access and hang-off provision during the design phase, operators can materially reduce upfront CAPEX while preserving a low-risk pathway to artificial lift if and when it is required.

What problem does In-Riser Production Optimization solve?
It provides a low-cost way to stabilize and improve production from subsea wells as reservoir pressure declines and water cut increases. By installing in-riser gas lift or a velocity string, operators can mitigate severe slugging, reduce back-pressure, stabilize flow, and improve recovery—without the cost and complexity of subsea boosting or major facility modification.
Where can this be deployed, and do we need direct vertical access?
It is specifically designed for facilities without direct vertical access, including FPSOs, TLPs, and semi-submersibles. Using Flexi-Coil® composite coiled tubing, the system can be deployed through complex topsides geometries (turrets, pontoons, lazy-wave risers), enabling retrofit and installation routes that are typically challenging for conventional steel tubing solutions.
How does this reduce CAPEX and improve payback certainty versus conventional solutions?
For new developments, it allows operators to design in future artificial lift optionality during concept select/FEED—without committing capital to riser-base gas lift or subsea infrastructure that may sit idle for years.
