Overview
Conventional remediation requires DSV or rig mobilisation for subsea intervention, at significant cost and with long lead times that extend deferred production losses.
Why It Happens
Full-bore blockages in unpiggable systems eliminate the option of pigging for removal, and conventional coiled tubing units cannot access systems with multiple tight bends or without direct vertical access. Chemical injection through umbilicals may be ineffective if communication across the blockage is lost. This leaves operators with few options beyond expensive subsea intervention.
How It Can Be Fixed
Deploy Paradigm’s non-intrusive remediation technologies from topside. Pipe-Pulse® generates controlled pressure surges that break down blockage structure over distances up to 100 km. Where physical access to the blockage is required, Flexi-Coil® navigates complex bend sequences from a platform-based skid to deliver chemical or mechanical removal without rig or DSV.
Why Paradigm
Paradigm’s combination of Find-Block® (location), Pipe-Pulse® (non-intrusive pressure pulse remediation), and Flexi-Coil® (flexible coiled tubing in unpiggable systems) provides a complete, integrated solution for full-bore blockage recovery without vessel or rig mobilisation. Paradigm’s production enhancement division has documented case studies of full-bore wax and hydrate blockage removal across offshore Africa, the North Sea, and other regions.
