Installation

Overview

Installation of a fire suppression system refers to the physical “onsite” work of assembling, positioning and securing all components needed for the system to operate effectively in a real life fire. Once design and fabrication stages are complete (if prefabricated) the team will then begin installing said pipework as per design. Installation can also be done in tandem with the fabrication. Ultimately, installation transforms the engineers design into fully functioning, compliant fire suppression system ready for commissioning and final inspection.

Why Installation Matters

Installation matters because it is the stage where the fire suppression system is physically built, connected and made ready to protect the building in a real emergency. Even the best design is ineffective if it isnt installed correctly. Proper installation ensures that pipes are positioned accurately, nozzles have the right spacing and orientation, and all components such as valves are fitted correctly. A high quality installation reduces the risk of system failures, improves reliability during any fire and helps the system meet all regulatory and insurance requirements.
Correct installation also makes commissioning, testing and future maintenance more efficient, ensuring the system will perform exactly as intended when its needed.

How We Deliver

Installation of a fire suppression system is delivered through a managed onsite process that brings the design and the fabrication sections together. It ultimately brings the system to life. It begins with positioning and securing the pipework using supports where required, ensuring correct alignment, spacing and elevation. Nozzles are installed at precise locations to achieve full coverage and all components are connected to supply.
Whilst undertaking installation, a pressure test, function test or leak test is performed to ensure the system is working as specified in design.  Upon completion of the installation the system will undergo final inspection, testing and commissioning to confirm compliance with relevant standards and readiness.

FAQ

How long does installation take?

Installation duration depends on the size and complexity of the system. Lots of things need to be factored into timings such as, access, layout, man power.

If the asset is occupied and has ongoing operations, then yes. Some operations within the area may be affected, this would all be controlled to minimise any disruption.

Quality is managed through internal inspections, supervisory checks, adherence to standards and clear installation procedures. Compliance is then validated through testing, commissioning and final inspections.

You should follow structured safety and compliance steps.

Variations are reviewed onsite and may require updated drawings and approvals. These changes are documented and communicated.

About Paradigm Fire Protection Services

About Paradigm Fire Protection Services

Paradigm Fire Protection Service offers performance based deluge testing technologies and remediation services.
Save cost, reduce operational disruption and increase asset lifespan with Paradigm Dry Deluge Testing: The only verified dry deluge test in the world Dry-Flo® testing involves flowing low-pressure, dried air into the deluge system. At low pressures air replicates the flow of water exactly, enabling us to take readings throughout the deluge system to prove compliance. Our software package processes this information to give live data in both a graphical and numerical format so the operator can quickly identify whether a system is compliant. If this isn’t the case the software can immediately show the operator where the issue is within the system, allowing our technicians to inspect and remediate as necessary. Dry-Flo® has been qualified in accordance with DNV-DSS-401, Technology Management /1/ and DNV GL considers it qualified for its intended use following DNV RP-A203 /2/ and is currently undergoing Bureau Veritas and Lloyds Register certification procedures.
