PIPELINE DEBRIS MAPPING TECHNOLOGY
As flow remediation specialists, we typically get the call from an operator in the worst case scenario. Flow is highly restricted or blocked all together, pigging is no longer an option and our remediation technologies provide a cheaper alternative to DSV supported intervention campaigns.
Debris mapping of a pipeline is inherently tricky, pigs can be used to measure and detect corrosion but this is intrusive and operators run the risk that the pig will get stuck which in turn can reduce or stop production.
Our team of engineers, in conjunction with academia, are currently designing a non-intrusive solution to this problem, based upon the principles of our Pipe-Pulse technology, Pipe-Profile will accurately determine the condition of a pipeline so that operators can plan their next step.
Unlike Pipe-Pulse, which uses bursts of transient pressure waves to break down blockages, Pipe-Profile uses a long, stable pulse. Information from this wave then feeds back to the facility, where we can use our Pipe-Profile software package to map the ID of the pipeline. This methodology removes the friction and gas uncertainties inherent in other debris mapping technologies allowing for much clearer information to be attained.
