E25 DD e-Winch®
The E25 Double Drum e-Winch® system consists of a containerized winch unit designed to optimize LWI operations, with excellent reliability, a compact footprint and outstanding performance covering the range of slickline and cased hole operations.
The e-Winch® system uses the latest design in compact high-power inverters and permanent magnet motors. Sophisticated drive control software allows for precise and smooth control of the liquid-cooled high-torque electric motors.
The direct electric drive system delivers the best winch control and automation available in the market today, providing rapid responses for fast stopping capability, instant torque delivery for fast acceleration and jarring, and ultra-slow stable logging speeds.
The single lift winch unit has a double drum winch arrangement for PD02 and PD10 drums. Activated by hydraulic cylinders, the roof opens completely to allow easy drum exchange. An optional state-of-the-art hands-off drum exchange system can be included for increased safety and efficiency during offshore drum changeouts.
Electronic depth and tension are measured with the PM20, a 20” 3-wheel wrap-around measuring head, which is integrated into the winch unit.
Paradigm’s Control & Monitoring System allows the E25 Double Drum e-Winch® to be controlled either locally by a local control station or handheld remote control and alternatively from a control chair in the control room or with a portable operator control panel. This allows maximum flexibility in terms of the control setup.
The Control & Monitoring System is also designed to be able to control multiple winches from a single control chair, increasing efficiency by facilitating simultaneous (offline) job preparation and (online) winch operations and providing redundancy.

FAQ
What types of operations is the E25 e-Winch® designed for?
The E25 Double Drum e-Winch® is containerized for optimal LWI operations, supporting both slickline (mechanical and digital) and cased hole wireline services. Its dual-drum setup (PD02 and PD10) allows simultaneous management of multiple wireline types and well interventions, providing a compact yet highly capable solution.
How does the E25 e-Winch® enhance safety and automation?
With liquid-cooled high-torque electric motors, advanced servo control, and intelligent drive software, the E25 ensures precise speed, torque, and acceleration. Operator-defined safety parameters prevent overpulls or surface pull-offs. Optional automated jarring, ultra-slow logging, and hands-off drum exchange further improve offshore safety.
How is the E25 e-Winch® controlled?
The winch can be operated locally via a control panel, handheld remote, or portable operator panel. It can also be controlled from a control chair in the control room. The Control & Monitoring System allows multiple winches to be managed from a single station, enabling simultaneous job preparation and live operations while providing redundancy.
What are the environmental and cost benefits of the E25 e-Winch®?
Being fully electric, the E25 produces zero direct emissions and operates with low noise. High machine efficiency, energy recovery, and minimal maintenance needs reduce operational costs and environmental impact, while providing a reliable and maintenance-free solution compared to hydraulic or diesel alternatives.
Can the E25 e-Winch® operate under reduced power supply conditions?
Yes. The system can adjust to variable grid voltages (380–480 VAC, 50–60 Hz) and limited power inputs, maintaining either maximum line tension at reduced speeds or maximum speed at lower tension. Current and power limits are easily configured via the e-Winch® software.
What optional hardware and software are available?
